Age: 14-16 Inspiration: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=urv6jArKp6M Purpose: Gift for my dad for father's day Significance: This was my first ever PCB as well as my fist Arduino controlled project using just the ATMEGA328 chip and not the actual Arduino board. This project also marked my first ever Digikey order.
Inspired by the video above, I decided to make a PCB, but what for. Immediately I honed in on father's day. I had planned on making boards for multiple people, but as a first PCB project that overwhelmed me. I got to work designing the circuit boards and eventually with the help of my dad etched my first ever circuit board. Unfortunately, I got swamped by other projects and the project didn't get completed for another 3 years, but this was still my first ever PCB using the toner transfer method and it marked the beginning of my relationship with Digikey (as is now I order from them at least once a month). Because of the on board ATMEGA328, I was able to do different patterns with the letters as seen below in the video.
